Event Description

Explore local plants, birds, and insects while contributing to ClimateWatch, Australia’s longest-running citizen science project.

Learn to record observations that help scientists track how climate change affects our environment.

No experience is needed - just curiosity and enthusiasm!

We’ll begin indoors with a friendly introduction to the ClimateWatch program and the free ClimateWatch app, created by Earthwatch Australia in partnership with the Bureau of Meteorology and the University of Melbourne.

As the first continental phenology project in the Southern Hemisphere, ClimateWatch empowers everyday Australians to collect valuable information about how temperature and rainfall shifts influence the seasonal behaviour of our flora and fauna.

After the introduction, we’ll step outside for a short guided walk around the library surrounds to practice using the app in real time. It’s a fun, engaging way to build new skills, connect with your community, and contribute to meaningful climate research—one observation at a time.

Connect with your community and make a real difference for the planet.
