Event Description

Award-winning philosopher Dr Damon Young and internationally bestselling novelist Toni Jordan come together for a captivating evening of ideas, insight, and lively conversation.

This rare meeting of two brilliant minds promises an evening that is thoughtful, provocative—and full of unexpected joy. In celebration of Damon’s new book, Immortal Gestures, the duo will explore the subtle language of the body—how movement, posture, and gesture can carry memory, emotion, and meaning.

From nods to shrugs, handshakes to salutes, discover the philosophy behind the everyday and the poetry within the physical. Damon Young is renowned for his elegant, perceptive reflections on everyday life. He is the author of fourteen books, including On Getting Off, The Art of Reading, and Philosophy in the Garden. A regular voice on ABC Radio and the BBC, he is also a celebrated children's author whose work spans philosophy, literature, and ethics.

Toni Jordan brings her trademark warmth, wit, and intelligence to the conversation. Once a molecular biologist and door-to-door salesperson, she is now an acclaimed novelist and author of eight books, including Addition, Dinner with the Schnabels series, and her most recent novel, Tenderfoot. Her fiction crosses genres and generations, delving into love, identity, and the messy beauty of being human.

*Please note Ben's Books will be availble on the evening for book sales.
